Inca Gods

The Inca were very smart and advanced in their time. The Inca people were taught to believe in many gods. Like the gods I have already mentioned on this blog, these gods played an important role in the everyday life of the Inca.

These gods include:

Konira Wirakocha- This is the trickster god. He walks around dreased and acts like a traveler. With single worlds that he would say he could make huge fields and terraced wonderful hillsides.

Mama Quilla- Mama Quilla is the goddes of women. She is also the goddes of the moon and marrage. She was the wife of Inti and the daughter of Viracocha. She is a very importang goddess to the Inca.

Supai- Supai was the god of death and greed. Supai was a very devistating god. The Inca people feared him so much that children would be sacrificed so that Supai would not attack them.

Chiqui Illapa- The thunder god. This god was one of the most important. He was the god that the Inca would pray to for rain. Rain was a very important for the Inca because without rain there were not any crops or food for the Inca and they would all obviously starve to death which is not what they wanted.

Manco Capac- Manco Capac was the last emereor of the Inca before they vanished. He was known as the son of Inti. Manco Capac founded the city of Cuzco and was worshipped as the son of the Sun.
