The image above is of this pre historic Inca young girl who has been mummified by the emence cold temperatures up in the 20,000 foot mountain in the Andes. This body and much like it were discovered by mountain climbers in 1964. The reason this girl was up there is because human sacrifice was a way of celebrating a major event like victory in war or an emperor's enthronement.



The image above is a very interesting image. This skull featured in the picture is of a surgery called trepanation. This goes to show how advanced in many fields the Inca society was even 1,000 years ago. This kind of surgery was occupied to help treat Incan warriors head injuries or possibly other medical problems.
