Machu Picchu
One of the most visited historical monuments in Peru. People travel from all the corners of the world just to see one of the wonders of the world. Nobody has been able yet to solve the mystery about how the transportation of huge blocks of limestone to the top of the mountain was made for the construction of the city.
Machu Picchu was built in the classical and typical Inca way. It is also one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.
The Incas believed the spirits of their creator resided in the natural elements: the sun, the moon, the earth, trees, etc....and they built nearly indescribable temples and other ritual places to honor these spirits.
For those who are planning to go to Peru i suggest you take more than one day to look t all the wonderful places in Machu Picchu.
